Gordon Institute director to testify before Congressional committee

Brian Fonseca, director of the Jack D. Gordon Institute for Public Policy at the Green School and an expert on global security issues, will testify before a Congressional committee this week about China's expanding influence in the Western Hemisphere. The hearing begins at 10 a.m. on Thursday and will be streamed live online at the link below.

The hearing before the U.S. House of Representative's Committee on Foreign Affairs will focus on "Dollar Diplomacy or Debt Trap? Examining China's Role in the Western Hemisphere." It is part of a series of hearings on U.S. strategy toward China and how the nation seeks to find means of influence abroad. The hearings include an examination of China's growing influence in Asia and the U.S.

Fonseca will testify alongside Margaret Myers, Program Director for the Asia & Latin America Program of the Inter-American Dialogue and Christopher Walker, Vice President for Studies and Analysis at the National Endowment for Democracy.
