Ryan Meldrum, associate professor in the Department of Criminology & Criminal Justice, recently appeared on The Health Channel – All Health All the Time to discuss his research on the effects lack of sleep can have on delinquent behavior among adolescents.
Meldrum studies the links between sleep and outcomes ranging from self-control, substance use and risky behavior, particularly as it relates to middle and high school students. During the show, he discussed research findings on the topic and shared tips for helping youth get more sleep, such as limiting screen time at night, minimizing the bedroom’s lights and creating other healthy habits.
